Default r/w w/r help, please!

hi guys, i want to make a melee weapon based character so im looking at the ranger and warrior combo but i just cant decide which way round to put them. i like the extra energy afforded by the ranger primary and i also think that the expertice skillset looks better then the strength equivalent ( unless im wrong ), but i also want to be an axe melee if possible and from what i can tell high end shields need either strength or tactics to use and a r/w wont have str and i doubt any points to spend in tac. if people could give me their opinions because the decision is driving me loopy! by the way i only have prophecies and looking to pve a lot, thx p.s. sorry bout the long post

warrior, thumpers arent that useful in PvE. pve melee needs good defense, mobs focus more on them.
